Goals
Along with partners interested in decreasing levels of educational segregation, we facilitate discussion about and research on:
- How networks of balanced school systems can be set up and maintained in ways that safeguard and even increase levels of genuine school choice.
- How 'feeder' areas for school can be redefined. (In areas dominated statistically by students from low-income families, generating and maintaining balanced schools is all but impossible.)
- How 'magnet' schools can be set up and run successfully. This goal refers to the creation and maintenance of schools that are attractive enough to lure middle class families even into tough urban areas.
- How new schools can be sited in economically mixed areas.
